In September, 2013, BBBST’s CEO, Marie Logan, took part in local public media coverage for American Graduate DayAmerican Graduate: Let’s Make it Happen is a national public media initiative supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that highlights the reach public TV can have in communities across the U.S. to address the high school dropout crisis. American Graduate Day 2013 was a seven-hour live broadcast and outreach event held on September 27, 2013. This “call-to-action” telethon based from WNET’s Tisch Studios at Lincoln Center in New York City, profiled more than 20 national community partners, and included a locally produced introduction by University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart, and 14 interview segments featuring Southern Arizona educators, education administrators and community partners.
