Start Something BIG for children in Tucson

Big Brothers Big Sisters receives more than half of its operating income from private donations and special event fundraising. We depend on individuals, corporations, and foundations to invest in our program.

Recent census data indicates over 30,000 at risk children could benefit from Big Brother Big Sisters programs here in the Tucson area. In today's economy, we are working harder for every dollar we receive. As we grow more efficient fiscally, we also continue to grow in terms of the number of children we serve. We are firmly committed to matching every child who needs and wants a Big Brother or Big Sister. Your generosity allows us to reach many more children in our community, improve their lives, and help them move from a position of risk to success.

Your support helps us pay for:

The recruitment and training of "Big" volunteers
The matching process, including background safety checks.
Ongoing supervision and support of the match by highly trained match specialists
Continued academic, vocational, cultural and social activities and programs which enrich the lives and opportunities for children and their families.

Arizona State Tax Credits

Donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson are eligible for tax credits in addition to any taken for donations to schools.

If you itemize deductions, you may be able to take a Credit of up to $200 per person or $400 per family – per qualifying organization – for donations made by December 31 of the tax year.

Tributes and Memorial Gifts

Donate Used Clothing and Household Items
Donations of gently used clothing and household items can be dropped off at our Community Donation Center or in one of our conveniently located donation bins around town. Donate a Vehicle to the Cars4Kids Program
Your used vehicle may be turned into cash to support our programs! Please contact us for more information.

Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match donations to charitable organizations for their employees, retirees and even their family members. Employer matching gifts can double or even triple your donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters! To initiate a matching gift, check with your employer's personnel or human resources department. If your employer uses a Matching Gift form, please complete the form and send it to our office at 160 E Alameda, Tucson, AZ 85701

Tax Status: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson is a nonprofit corporation, EIN 86-0188050, classified by the IRS as exempt under the IRS Section 501(c)(3). . Therefore, donations from individuals and corporations, as well as grants from private foundations, qualify for maximum tax benefits allowable by the IRS.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson is also a Qualified Organization for the AZ State Tax Credit, permitting credits of up to $400 per household (in addition to donations to schools) for donors who itemize their taxes. Please read above for details or contact us for more information.

Most gifts of cash or in-kind items to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson are deductible for donors who itemize their federal income tax returns.
